Hi,

I inherited a Victor of Canada Model 211 from my late grandmother. It doesn't work, and the finish is extremely worn, but the cabinet seems to be in sound and restorable condition.

Can anyone tell me where I can get detailed information about this piece and date of manufacture (I assume the '30s)? Value as is would be good to know as well as the advisability of restoring the finish.

Thanks very much.

Angus

Hi Angus,
Start here, this should get you going for the electrical portion.
Just click on your model number. Hope this helps a bit.

Also, I beleive that your set is a 1934 "lowboy".
4 Knobs, Broadcast, Shortwave, 5 tubes, AC.
This is according to Slusser's 6th edition guide.

Thanks very much, Midnight. That sounds right for the date and the rest of your description is dead-on. Hoping I can find an on-line resource that can guide me on whether to strip the finish and restore or not.

I really appreciate your help.

Angus
